compass tours - neu delhi - super, trotzdem nein

"We found Compass Tour arrangements excellent. There were four of us; myself, wife and two sons 14 & 18. We booked mini bus, drivers, tour and hotels before we went with help from Compass. We did Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Samode staying at Shangri-La in Delhi, Tay View in Agra, Taj Palace in Jaipur and Samode Palace in Samode (all very good, especially last two). All arrangements were met and a great holiday. Drivers and tour guides were very good. In our personal experience I could not fault anything and a great holiday and value for money. Hope this helps."

"I discovered Compass tours via the TripAdvisor
website (excellent site!) and found them to be
excellent. They communicated well, provided excellent
accomodation as requested, had a representative meet
us at each stage of our trip, the car driver was
excellent and safe ( unusual for India!!??) and
furthermore were about half the price the I was quoted
in Australia!!!. We are experienced travellers in our
50's and normaly when we travel we do not use tour
guides but in India we found it a lot easierwith the
limited time we had. We stayed in 5 star hotels
throughout Rajasthan which were all fabulous

i would use them again and recommend them to anyone!
If you have any further queries please do not
hesitate to contact me again [from australia]"

"I gave Compass the names of the cities that I was
interested in visiting and they arranged the
pick ups and drop offs at the airport and
train stations. They arranged for a car and driver
who was available 8am-8pm. Guides were provided
for every city I visited. If you are
comfortable with Englisg, the guides
will be able to communicate easily with you.
The guides were very good - they were informative
and well trained. If you want guides who are
fluent in German, I imagine that they
are available. Compass arranged all of the
hotel bookings.
They only deal with three stars and higher.
I asked for three star hotels and with the
exception of the hotels in Delhi, the
hotels were good to very good.
I would recommend using a four star hotel
in Delhi.
All told, Compass was very professional and
I have no hesitancy in recommending them.
After you have selected the cities you want
to visit, compass will send you a detailed
itineray with specific sights listed in the
document. If you have special sights you
want covered, inform Compass of this. The
detailed itinerary is like a contract between you and
compass. Deviating from the itinerary could
cost more, although I varied my tour and
was not charged for it.
If you are short on time, touring by car is
the most efficient way to see India.
You don't have to struggle with local
transportation etc. Using the
guides that were provided allows you to obtain much
more info then if you attempt to recruit guides as you
go along.
Two things you should know: First, if you do use
the guides, they will, at some point during your day,
take you to local artisans for shopping purposes -
rugs makers, silk weavers, pottery
makers and jewellers. They are interesting
craftsmen to watch and there will be subtle and not
so subtle pressures to purchase things. I
bought nothing in most cases. Secondly,
tips are expected for the driver and the guides.
I don't know if there is a rule of thumb for tipping
but I tipped based on quality of service. My tour
with Compass was well worth the money. Good luck with your
trip." [canada]
